Are you Twitter Verified? “Meta Verified?” Someone once said, “Trust but Verify.” It’s hard to imagine the latest trend in social media marketing with all these verified and true-blue check marks will correct or restore the balance of social media.
Social Media has long become an ongoing political claptrap of recycled opinions and contentious debates and there appears to be no end in sight. As a brand looking to protect and preserve your reputation, is a verified and/or blue check mark really going to make a difference, or will it simply become like a stop sign in California, that users don’t observe and just roll through?
A blue check mark won’t eliminate imposters or create social cred or social harmony.
